The Medical Trauma Collaborative Ltd has been created with the idea of a shared strengths resource pool, combining the expertise of a variety of Healthcare Professionals who specialise in working with Medical Trauma (MT), for the benefit of patients, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and all Health Care Clinicians.
In addition to generating awareness, my intention is to form a not-for-profit company in the UK where all those involved in the MT Collaborative eventually receive an income for their time invested. Services would include networking and referring patients for therapy, educational group therapy for patients who have experienced MT or Medical Anxiety (MA), teaching a trauma informed approach through a lived experienced as well as a psycho-educational lense to health care professionals and providing conversational podcasts.
The Medical Trauma Recovery Alliance is also currently being established in the US and I'm thrilled to have been invited to its first meeting recently. Ideally as time moves on, the intention is to offer a global centre of resources to support patients and clinicians alike who are experiencing MT symptoms.
