Medical Trauma Collaborative
The Medical Trauma Collaborative: A partnership of Healthcare Professionals dedicated to generating greater awareness of Medical Trauma.
Next meetings!
As I welcome introductions from others working with MT, we are having our first MT Collab meeting in June as well as another MTRA meeting in the US! Exciting times for networking:-)
Who and what?
The Medical Trauma Collaborative Ltd has been created with the idea of a shared strengths resource pool, combining the expertise of a variety of Healthcare Professionals who specialise in working with Medical Trauma (MT), for the benefit of patients, Counsellors, Psychotherapists and all Health Care Clinicians.
In addition to generating awareness, my intention is to form a not-for-profit company in the UK and Republic of Ireland where all those involved in the MT Collaborative eventually receive an income for their time invested. Services would include networking and referring patients for therapy, educational group therapy for patients who have experienced MT or Medical Anxiety (MA), teaching a trauma informed approach through the lived experience as well as a psycho-educational lense to health care professionals. We will also be providing conversational podcasts with other experts, interviews with people who would like to share their personal story, and educational resources via publications, papers, books etc.
The Medical Trauma Recovery Alliance is also currently being established in the US and I'm thrilled to have been invited to its first meeting recently. Ideally as time moves on, the intention is to offer a global centre of resources to support patients and clinicians alike who are experiencing MT symptoms.
